Cut from natural travertine and mounted on mesh, Silver Travertine Blasted 1x2 is made in our workshop in Denizli rather than bought in. Chip format is 1x2. Chips sit on a straight grid, quiet enough to run the full height of a wall without fighting anything else in the room.

Surface and color. The face of each chip is opened mechanically, with no acid and no chemical wash, so it keeps the texture the stone had in the ground. Shades sit in the gray, silver, white and beige range. Stone is not manufactured to a color standard, so allow for movement between sheets. The Silver name refers to the quarry seam the travertine is taken from, which is what sets the color band. Sheets are thinned in production, so they are light enough to go on a wall without a structural allowance.

The stone. Each sheet is set by hand rather than machine-laid, so the joint stays even where a mechanical setter would drift. Each sheet is set by hand rather than machine-laid, so the joint stays even where a mechanical setter would drift.

Where it works. Common applications are bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, powder-room accent walls and exterior façade panels on sheltered elevations. For floor use, check the finish against the traffic the room actually takes.

Setting it. Use a non-staining white adhesive and seal the sheet before grouting — natural stone will take up pigment from a dark grout if it goes on raw. Use a non-staining white adhesive and seal the sheet before grouting — natural stone will take up pigment from a dark grout if it goes on raw.

What the photographs show. We photograph every mosaic twice: once flat, square to the camera, so nothing about the pattern is hidden, and once in a finished room so you can see it under real light with furniture in front of it.

Ordering. The sheet price is $9.99. US delivery is free; stock is held and dispatched in Connecticut. Production and dispatch times are shown on this page; the full schedule is in our Shipping Policy.
