Every sheet of Travertine Antiquing Mosaic 1x1 starts as a block of travertine from our own quarry, is cut to size, then hand-set on mesh backing. Chip format is 1x1. Chips sit on a straight grid, quiet enough to run the full height of a wall without fighting anything else in the room.

Surface and color. After cutting, the chips are drum-aged: the arrises round off and the surface goes matte instead of polished. Tone runs through gray, beige and brown. Because it is quarried stone rather than a printed ceramic, no two sheets are identical and batches will not match exactly.

The stone. Nothing here is filled, dyed or resin-backed — the sheet is stone and mesh, and what you see is the stone itself. Marble is metamorphic and dense, which is what lets it take a crisp edge on a chip this small.

Where it works. It reads well on a large uninterrupted wall, and equally well in a small powder room where the pattern is close to the eye. For floor use, check the finish against the traffic the room actually takes.

Setting it. Set it on a flat, primed substrate with a white polymer-modified thin-set; gray adhesive can shadow through a light stone. Plan the layout from the visible corner outward so any cut sheet lands where it is least seen, and dry-lay a few sheets first to mix batches.

What the photographs show. Look at the flat shot first — it tells you the chip size and the joint. Then look at the room shots: a mosaic that reads busy at arm's length often settles down completely once it covers a whole wall.

Ordering. Sheets are $9.99 each and ship at no charge inside the United States. Production and dispatch times are shown on this page; the full schedule is in our Shipping Policy.
