Every sheet of Distressed Big Brick Mosaic 2x4 starts as a block of marble from our own quarry, is cut to size, then hand-set on mesh backing. Chip format is 2x4. Chips run in a brick bond, which pulls the eye sideways and makes a narrow wall read wider.

Surface and color. Chips are tumbled and edge-worn before setting, which knocks the corners back and gives a wall that looks like it has been there a while. Expect gray and beige across the sheet. Color comes from the seam the stone was cut from, so shade varies between production runs.

The stone. Nothing here is filled, dyed or resin-backed — the sheet is stone and mesh, and what you see is the stone itself. Marble is metamorphic and dense, which is what lets it take a crisp edge on a chip this small.

Where it works. It reads well on a large uninterrupted wall, and equally well in a small powder room where the pattern is close to the eye. For floor use, check the finish against the traffic the room actually takes.

Setting it. Butter the wall rather than the sheet, keep the mesh dry, and align sheets by eye at the seam so the joint disappears. Seal after installation with a breathable impregnating sealer, and again every couple of years in a wet area.

What the photographs show. The flat frame is the technical one — chip size, joint width, color spread. The interior frames answer the question a swatch cannot: what this looks like from across a room.

Ordering. The sheet price is $11.99. US delivery is free; stock is held and dispatched in Connecticut. Production and dispatch times are shown on this page; the full schedule is in our Shipping Policy.
